The experience

What families see
on the big night.

One link from your department opens a page any family can follow in a web browser, in English or Spanish.

Live on the big night

A little dot. A whole lot of excitement.

Families watch Santa’s truck move through the community and see where it’s headed next.

FD Santa Tracker public page on a phone, showing the live map, route photos, the current street and the Wave at the Truck card.

The map shows the truck and tonight’s trail, never the viewer’s location. Under it are the street, time on the road, speed and last update. Positions run slightly behind and pause if the tracking phone loses signal.

Wave at the Truck

Families tap to cheer Santa on, and the crew sees the count on the truck.

Before a tap
The Wave at the Truck card before a tap, showing 4 waves tonight and that the crew sees the count on the truck.
After a tap
The Wave at the Truck card right after one tap, reading Waved, 5 waves tonight, and you can wave again in a minute.

Before the big night

Families can see the stops ahead of time.

When no Santa is tracking, your page shows where the truck is headed next, on the map and in a list with times, so families can plan where to watch.

Share the smiles along the way.

Your photo crew adds pictures from the route. They appear publicly on your tracking page and recap.

  • Your department handles any consent your area requires and can remove photos.
  • Families can ask your department to take a photo down.

A wish list with a special delivery.

Parents and guardians send a Letter to Santa on a child’s behalf and confirm that before the form opens. Letters aren’t public. Your department’s administrators read them in the app.

  • A first name and neighborhood are optional and erased automatically after 60 days.
  • The message is kept, so senders are reminded to leave out identifying details like full names, addresses, and school names.

After the last stop

Keep the memories.

A season recap brings together route photos and engagement totals for your department.

Estimated viewers come from browser sessions. They’re estimates, not a headcount, so share them that way.
